The grading scale
A grade is not an impression: it is the result of an inspection applied the same way to every item, and it holds good for our buyers as much as for you.
| Grade | What the buyer receives |
|---|---|
| A+ | New, sealed, complete, never opened. |
| A | Unboxed but as new, complete, no sign of use. |
| B+ | Very good condition, minor marks, complete, function verified. |
| B | Visible signs of use, complete, function verified. |
| C+ | Clear marks or a missing original accessory, works. |
| C | Heavy signs of use or incomplete, works. |
| D | Known and described fault: repair or spare parts. |
| F | Not sellable as is: spare parts or treatment channel. |
What holds the scale together
A scale is only worth the rigour with which it is applied and the record it leaves behind.
A grade implies a test
No item is rated on appearance alone. Function is verified according to the protocol defined for its product family.
A defect is described, not hidden
Scratch, missing accessory, opened packaging, known fault: whatever is observed is written down and photographed on the item record.
A grade can be revised
After restoration the item is inspected again and its grade updated. The history of successive grades stays available.
The scale adapts to your products
Test criteria, blocking defects and downgrade thresholds are set per family: a garment and a power drill are not inspected the same way.
The five possible exits
An inspected item takes one of these paths. None of them is a processing failure: each corresponds to a rule you approved.
Back into sellable stock
The item returns to stock under your brand, in its original packaging or an equivalent repack.
Sold online on our channels
The item is listed with its grade and its defects, at a price consistent with its actual condition.
Sold in a lot to a trade buyer
The item joins a homogeneous lot sold to a verified trade buyer, with the detailed list of references.
Spare parts
The item can no longer be sold whole, but its components repair other units of the same model.
Approved treatment channel
When no other route is possible, the item goes to an approved channel, with the corresponding certificate.
